My earliest childhood memories contain evidence of my deep love of Art and its creative processes. It is no surprise that Art was the only career path that I ever considered. A native of Easton Pennsylvania, I graduated from Kutztown University with a BS degree in Art Education. In 1973 I relocated to Wilmington Delaware, where I began a 34 year career teaching Art in the public schools. Upon retiring, I realized that I still loved the teaching process, and continue to teach children as well as adults. In 2003 I accompanied a group of artists to Ireland for a two week painting trip. It was then that I grew eager to get back to my own work. My work had consisted primarily of Watercolors until another trip this time to France, inspired me to try my hand in Oil. Since 2012 I have been working equally with both mediums. Although nature still provides me with my primary inspiration, I have recently been exploring a wide variety of subject matter. I am particularly interested in light and shadow and have been striving to achieve more depth in my painting.
