My work is unique because of my glazes. The glazes I make express themselves in successive layers of greens and blues that combine to make a beautiful presentation. I design dinnerware with a seascape pattern and seashells that make me think of wonderful times walking on the beach. Living first on the East Coast, then on the West Coast put me in reach of two oceans, Pacific and Atlantic. My work with the Maritime Museum of San Diego put me in touch with stories of the sea. The stories of immigrants who sailed the seas to come here to America. These men worked on fishing boats, when the tuna industry in California was the largest in the world. They found a new home and a better place to live. As a result, I am constantly drawn to the gifts from the sea and my pottery reflects that theme.
