Beauty and grace. A sense of enchantment. These are what I strive to attain. My semi-abstract paintings gravitate toward the romantic rather than the classical; while my abstracts are a dichotomy of silence and movement. All my work strives to be subtle yet engaging. In my art, as in my life, I often question traditional notions of beauty. This is most evident in my decoupage taxidermy and drawings through the juxtaposition of things not ordinarily considered beautiful, such as skulls or skeletons, with delicate gold and silver leaf and intricately painted patterns. An unexpected harmony is achieved.
